SWIM: 1.2 miles (1.9 km), (1 lap) :

The swim starts and finish at Nizuc beach (250 meter from Wet n Wild park).

You will swim one lap counter clock on a rectangular shaped course, there will be big buoys at the corners and smaller ones along the course.

It will be a beach start.

The water visibility is 100% and big buoys will be placed every 200m for your reference with smaller ones along the course. Water temperature will be around 84 F, wetsuits will not be permitted. 

Cut off time: 1:10 hours for each wave start.

BIKE: 56 miles (90 km), (2 laps) :


The bike course starts at point A on the Kukulcan Boulevard towards the airport, using only the lanes on the sea side.   Remember to mount your bike until you are outside transition area, after the mount line. At the end of the Kukulcan Boulevard, you will make a left and ride .62 mi on the Playa del Carmen - Cancun highway using only the right and emergency lanes separated by barricades (vehicles will go in the left lane.   Continue onto the libramiento road towards the Cancun-Merida Highway until point B, then turnaround and back to point C where first lap will be completed.   The second lap starts at point C goes to point B and back to point A. 

1st lap:      A to B to C
2nd lap:     C to B to A

While riding over Libramiento road and the Cancun-Merida Highway there will be two– way bicycle traffic, thus crossing the center line is not permitted and will be penalized.     Every athlete is responsible to know the course and to count their  own laps.  There will be race officials at every turnaround and along the course, as well as timing mats and video cameras. There will be 2 tents for neutral bike mechanic service if needed, located at points B and C. The course is flat, paved on very good conditions and with a few sharp corners.    We recommend that you take two water bottles during this segment of the race.

There will be race officials at every turnaround and along the course, as well as timing mats and video cameras.     

There will be 2 tents for neutral bike mechanic service if needed, located at points B and C circuit.     

The course is flat and paved in good conditions and with a few sharp corners.    We recommend that you take two water bottles during this segment of the race.

During the entire event we will have the support of the Federal Police Department and the lanes will be properly designated with cones on both sides of the lane.

The highway on points B-A will be totally closed to vehicle traffic.
 

Important:

* PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR BIB NUMBER AT THE BACK DURING THIS SEGMENT.
* DRAFTING IS NOT ALLOWED.
* BLOCKING IS NOT ALLOWED.
* NO EXTERNAL AID OR SUPPORT IS ALLOWED.
* DURING THE BIKE YOU WILL FIND WATER BOTTLES (FILLED WITH WATER) AT THE AID STATIONS THAT WILL BE EXCHANGED FOR PARTICIPANTS PERSONAL BOTTLES, THERE WILL ASLO BE GATORADE BOTTLES.
* ATHLETES CAN WALK WITH THEIR BIKES IF NECESSARY.
* Bike's cut off time: 5:00 hours for each wave start.

RUN: 13.1 miles (21.1 km), (2 laps):


The half marathon course is 2 laps on a 6.6 mile circuit, starting at the Wet N Wild parking lot to the right, towards downtown Cancun on Kukulcan Boulevard (sea side), it will be divided by cones from point A to D and it will be totally closed to vehicle traffic, as they will circulate on a two-way traffic along the lagoon side of Kukulcan Boulevard.

You will find aid stations every other km with Gatorade, water, ice, PowerBar (bars and gel), Vaseline, Coke and medical assistance.

There will be race officials at every turnaround and along the course, as well as timing mats and video cameras.     The competitor bib number should be visible at the front at all times during the run, especially at the finish line.

We recommend that you stop your watch a few meters before or after crossing the finish line, so you do not obstruct your race number for your finisher photo.

Cut off time: 8 hours for each wave start.

Important:

Medical assistance will be provided in bike – run transition. Athletes who may need serious medical assistance at this point will not be allowed to continue. Medical decision will be irrefutable.

1) Participants are required to wear bib number at the front during this segment.
2) NO family, friends or other than official assistance is allowed, this is an individual resistance event.
